Welcome to C.R.O.S.S. Food Ministries!
CROSS, Inc. is a non-profit Tennessee corporation established by local churches in the Seymour area. CROSS is operated solely by volunteers who serve every aspect of the operations. Financial support is provided by sponsoring churches, community fundraisers, local businesses, and other generous gifts from individuals.
CROSS is your local food ministry serving the tri-county Seymour community for over twenty-three years. We meet the needs of those less fortunate regardless of religious beliefs by providing help with:
* Only when funds are available and limitations apply
Get phone messages off recorder and return calls daily or get messages to appropriate leader(s) Read and respond to daily emails
Enter client information into ‘Charity Check” and create reports for management.
Oversee Fundraisers and Events with appropriate Committees and Volunteers
Place incoming donations of food on sorting table or in cooler or freezer
Speaking Engagements and Ministry Fairs at Churches, Clubs, Organizations, Schools, etc.
Newspaper articles for community awareness; report on fundraisers and current events
Attend local, nonprofit educational opportunities whenever possible
Organize Community Service Projects (Youth groups, Boys& Girl Scouts, Students)
Keep website updated with current events via webmaster
Grant and Donation Opportunities in application and writing.
Make sure refrigerators are stocked with items available for clients
Update dry erase board with items and amount available (perishables and bread)
Make sure waste paper cans in building are emptied into large trash can on porch
Make sure building is clean (sometimes you have to sweep, mop and clean restrooms)
Post any flyers from other agencies of goods or services available to CROSS clients
Check and purchase office supplies as necessary (Paper, ink cartridges, tape, etc.)
Christmas Vouchers for Clients: Collect client data, verify eligibility, , purchase gift cards and distribute to clients
Rummage Sale donations: Receive, organize, and store constant in-coming donationsConstant thank you cards: Get names/addresses and submit to volunteer
